KickApps is a social CRM platform that enables companies to create online engagement experiences, used by marketers, customer support and product development teams. Michael Chin, a repeat interview for me on Marketing Voices, talked about his latest campaigns for Lea and Perrins and Ovation TV. Lea and Perrins used a $5,000 prize contest to drive engagement and Ovation TV held a Battle of the Nutcracker Contest. Chin also tells me that despite the recession, KickApps business is going gangbusters. Good to hear for social media and marketing!

Another terrific post, thank you! Reminds me of David Meerman Scott’s concept of the world wide rave.

It’s clear that in the continuing evolution of online presence development, this sort of engagement experience is becoming increasingly valuable. For those listeners who may not be aware, measurement is a key fundamental to the process and can’t be undervalued. As is so often the case, the SME sector can become entranced by what they see happening and fail to recognize that to fully benefit from this sort of development initiative requires a thoroughly planned action that ensures a complete cycle of development, promotion and evaluation. If one of these is missing, the activity may well not have the success that was hoped for and another company falls victim to the “…internet doesn’t work!” attitude.

I often finish off with “We’re at the edge of the future!” I believe we are in extraordinary times and the opportunity to really be able to offer outstanding outcomes to those organizations that understand what is evolving is tremendous. All that to say, I too am excited!

‘From’ the edge of the future…

Andy, we are in extraordinary times. I am excited as well. But i am still finding that many large organizations don’t know what to do and need enormous guidance. They still focus on the tools and not the objectives.
